The All Ceylon Private Bus Companies' Federation says that in protest against the import of 3000 buses for the SLTB, it will suspend all existing transactions with the National Transport Commission.

Participating at a media briefing held in Colombo yesterday, All Ceylon Private Bus Companies' Federation Secretary Anjana Priyanjith said that unless the decision the Government had taken for the import of new buses was not cancelled, it will resort to an island-wide one-day token strike within 14 days.   

However participating at another media briefing held in Colombo yesterday Transport Minister Kumara Welgama said that trade unions could not impose prohibitions against bus import.
