The speaker informed the parliament that until the President presents the Divi Neguma Draft Bill to the provincial councils, it will not become a law.

He made this statement while presenting the Supreme Court ruling regarding the Divi Neguma draft bill's constitutionality.

The Divi Neguma Draft Bill was presented to the parliament recently by minister of economic development Basil Rajapakse and subsequently the speaker presented the draft bill to the Supreme Court to inspect its constitutionality.

The speaker also stated in parliament that there was no opposition for the draft bill.
