The case pertaining to the Mulleriyawa incident where MP R. Duminda Silva was shot was taken up at the Colombo Magistrate's Court again today.

The hearing was postponed for the 2nd of October and the CID stated that all video footage regarding the incident will be presented before the Attorney General's department.

President's counsel Hemantha Warnakulasuriya, who represents MP R. Duminda Silva repeatedly, stated that MP R Dumindha Silva was the victim and not a suspect in the incident and that MP R. Duminda Silva was shot first and that his security personnel returned fire.

President's counsel Hemantha Warnakulasuriya also stated that testimonies provided by the forensic and judicial medical officer suggest that MP R. Duminda Silva was shot first and at very close range.

ASP Shani Abeysekara of the CID also confirmed in courts that Bharatha Lakshman and his entourage fired first.

President's Counsel Hemantha Warnakulasuriya who is representing MP R. Duminda Silva made the following statement after the adjournment of the case.

Subsequently the counsel proceeded to explain MP R. Duminda Silva's health condition with the aid of a model of the MP's skull obtained from a 3 dimensional scanner.
