Minister S.M. Chandrasena states that he has resigned from his portfolio as Minister of Wild Life & Agrarian Services, in order to facilitate his brothers proposed appointment as Chief Minister of the North Central Province.
Speaking to our news team minister Chandrasena said that he had tendered in his resignation to President Mahinda Rajapaksa today.
It had been noted during yesterdays UPFA Election Committee Meeting that allowing political appointments to members of the same family was problematic.
Accordingly Minister S.M. Chandrasena noted that he had drawn the decision to resign from his portfolio.
