President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday arrived at Palam Airport in New Delhi on a three-day official visit to India.
The Sri Lankan delegation led by President Rajapaksa was warmly welcomed by Indian Science and Technology and Earth Science State Minister Ashwani Kumar at the airport.
The President’s Indian tour was organized following an invitation for a foundation laying ceremony to set up an International Buddhist University in Shanchi.
It is hoped that the President’s visit will strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
The President will meet his Indian counterpart Pranab Mukherjee and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh during the tour.
