Bandaragama bus strike spreads to Kalutara

All private buses operating from the Kalutara depot have engaged in a strike since this morning.

Chairman of the Lanka Private Bus Owners Association, Gamunu Wijeratne stated that this strike was launched in support of the strike launched by the private buses in the Bandaragama bus terminal.

The strikes have been initiated in objection to new route permits being issued to several buses along the Aluthgama, Awissawella route.

Speaking further the chairman of the Lanka Private Bus Owners Association, stated that legal action will be taken against the Minister of transportation in the Western province for contempt of court.
