Although certain parties claim that battle over the chief ministerial post of the North Central Province has concluded, the clash of ideologies regarding the coveted post still continue to persist.

 

Resigning from his cabinet post former Minister S.M. Chandrasena asserted that his brother S.M. Ranjith would be sworn in as the Chief Minister of the North Central Provincial Council during the wee hours of the 24th.

 

In reply Former Chief Minister of the North Central Province Berty Premalal Dissanayaka convened a media briefing in Anuradhapura yesterday.

 

Moreover former Minister S.M. Chandrasena who convened a media briefing in Anuradhapura today went onto say that the proclamation made by former Chief Minister Berty premalal Dissanayaka yesterday was a fallacy.

 

This was the statement made in this regard yesterday, by former Chief Minister of the North Central Province Berty Premalal Dissanayaka.

 

 

Meanwhile former Minister S.M. Chandrasena filed the following reply today,

in response to Berty Premalal Dissanayaka’s statement yesterday.

 

 

Speaking further Former Minister S.M. Chandrasena had this to say.

 

 

Former Minister S.M. Chandrasena in conclusion noted that his decision to resign from his cabinet portfolio was drawn owing to the public's request.

 

He added that his preliminary responsibility was the countries public, where as his brother was the secondary.
