President Mahinda Rajapaksa who concluded his three day visit to
India arrived in the island this afternoon at a round 1.45 pm on board a special flight.
The president was invited to India to lay the foundation stone for the Sanchi Buddhist University which is being constructed in Madya Pradesh.
During his tour president Mahinda Rajapaksa engaged his Indian counterpart Pranab Mukherjee & Indian Premier Dr. Manmohan Singh.
According to a release issued by the Presidential Media Unit the president’s tour has aided in strengthening bi-lateral ties between both South East Asian neighbours.
