President Mahinda Rajapaksa states that the people of the country should stand in unison in order to translate the victory which was obtained during the recently held polls into a true victory of the public.
The president's observations came during a meeting which was held today with the participation of UPFA candidates who emerged victorious during the recently held polls in the countries North Central & Sabaragamuwa regions.
Speaking further President Rajapaksa noted that all should unite devoid of party politics & dogma in an attempt to face all emerging challenges.
Moreover tackling the topic of this years budget, President Rajapaksa noted that
the blue print for this years fiscal plan was already being minted.
Meanwhile politically informed sources state that the swearing-in of the newly elected Chief Ministers for the countries Sabaragamuwa & North Central regions is due to take place tomorrow.
According to speculation, Maheepala Herath is due to be elected as the new Chief Minister of the Sabaragamuwa Province, while S.M. Ranjith who obtained the highest number of votes from the North Central province will be sworn in as the area’s chief minister.
