Malini Fonseka who resigned from her post of Member of Parliament, which she obtained from the national list, is ready to resume her parliamentarian duties.
Speaking to our news team she stated that President Mahinda Rajapakse had stated that she needs to stay in parliament on behalf of the artistes.
Reports say that while she had yesterday informed the Parliamentary Secretary General that she was resigning from the MP post, she had also informed the Election Commissioner about it.
According to the official communication made by the Parliamentary Secretary General, the election commissioner had at noon yesterday informed the UPFA General Secretary Minister Susil Premajayantha to nominate a person for the post.
The Election Commissioner had stated that if the UPFA General Secretary would nominate a person for the post last night, necessary arrangement had been made notify about it through a gazette notification last night itself.
The spokesman also said that Malini Fonseka could again serve as MP after she is sworn in before the Speaker.
