The Sri Lankan High Commission in Dakha-Bangladesh has issued a special security advisory to Sri Lankans residing in the country followed by the spate of attacks which were launched on a series of Buddhist temples on the 29th of this month.
Denouncing the act, a protest was launched before the Bangladeshi High Commission in Colombo yesterday.
Groups which engaged in the protest had attacked the High Commission utilizing bottles.
In the wake of the event the Sri Lankan High Commission in Bangladesh has cautioned Sri Lankan's residing in the country to remain vigilant concerning their personnel safety & has requested of them to avoid travel during night hours.
The release which bears the signature of the Sri Lankan High Commissioner in Bangladesh Sarath Weragoda also goes onto state that Colombo is constantly monitoring the situation and remains concerned regarding the safety of its expat citizens.
