The Health Ministry has planned special medical clinics at rural level to create awareness among the public regarding non communicable deceases.

The Health Ministry points out that heart decease, high blood pressure, diabetes and other non communicable deceases are on the rise.

Additional Secretary of the Health Ministry Dr. Palitha Maheepala expressed these views regarding the matter.

Meanwhile, Public Health Inspectors have stated that they would commence trade union action without prior warning if their demands are not met through the forthcoming budget.
