A petition stating that the private medical college in Malabe is not suitable to award degrees has been rejected by the Supreme Court today.

The petition was submitted by two doctors and two university lecturers.

When the petition was taken up before a three-member judge bench led by Chief Justice Shirani Bandarayaka, attorneys representing the respondents stated that the time period to file a petition had expired.

Accepting the primary objection, the judge bench decided to reject the petition.
