The Vidyaloka College in Galle which had its activities suspended following a tense situation which erupted at the college re-commenced its academic activities today.
However the newly appointed principal had precluded himself from reporting to work today.
The tense situation at the college had arisen at the Vidyaloka College concurrent to the new principal assuming his duties.
Students backed by parents who protested against the principal assuming duties at the college at pelted stones at the principal & his car which sustained damages.
Flowingly the principal was provided police protection.
When inquired by the newly appointed principal of the Vidyaloka College Bandula Jayasinghe concerning his absence during the recommencement of activities at the school he noted that he had been absent owing to an ailment.
Meanwhile former principal of the Vidyaloka College F. Welage convening a media briefing today had denied any responsibility for the unrest which broke out at the college on the 01st of this month.
