Court activities have been disrupted island wide resulting in the vacation of duties by Judges, a move which comes in dissent against the assault launched on the Secretary of the Judicial Services Commission Manjula Thillekerathna.
Issuing a release the Judges Association of Sri Lanka has stated that judges were due to converge in Colombo today.
Meanwhile according to our court correspondent cases due to be taken up before all courts island wide yesterday will be recalled on the 22nd of this month, while cases due to be heard before the Magistrates Court will be recalled on the 12th of this month.
Decrying yesterday's attack which was launched on the Secretary of the JSC Attorneys engaged in a protest before the Hulftsdorp courts complex yesterday.
Meanwhile, the lawyers association too have convened a special meeting.
Secretary of the Lawyers association Sanjaya Gamage stated that this meeting will be held on Saturday.
However higher education Minister5 S B Dissanayaka had this to say regarding the attack carried out against the JSC secretary.
