The National Languages & Social Integration Ministry has introduced a new phone number in a bid to solve the language crisis in the country.

If members of the public are inconvenienced concerning any language issue at government departments, cooperation's and institutions they are obliged to call  

1956 in order to obtain help.

The aim of the initiative is to avert language issues faced by the Tamil speaking public especially at government departments where the state language Sinhala is being utilized.
