Tourists trapped in Minneriya wildlife park rescued

The police was able to rescue the tourists who had been stranded at the Minneriya National wildlife park.

Twenty-four tourists had thus been stranded inside the wild life park as a result of the water level of the Kiri Ela stream flowing  in the Minneriya National Wild life park rising.

Police media spokesman SSP Prishasntha  Jayakody told our news team that it had been possible to rescue the group without any harm.
