The Government Medical Officers Association and the Principals and Teachers Trade Union had convened two press conferences today in Colombo.
Speaking at the press conference convened by the GMOA, its media spokesperson Dr. Naveen De Soyza stated that if the authorities do not increase the salaries of doctors, they would resort to a trade union action within the next two weeks.
Speaking further Dr. Naveen De Soyza had the following to say.
Meanwhile speaking at the press conference convened by the Principals and Teachers Trade Union, its general secretary Joseph Starlin stated that both teachers and principals have faced many issues as of now and that the minister of education has failed to provide solutions for these issues.
Speaking further he stated that the Principals and Teachers Trade Union has decided to enter into a trade union action as well.
