The Federation of University Teachers Association states that its demands to allocate 6% off the county’s Gross Domestic Product for education as well as salary demands have not been met by the government.

Addressing a media briefing held in Colombo today Chairman of FUTA

Dr. Nirmal Ranjith Dewasiri made the following clarifications in this regard.

However Dr. Dewasiri added that those who had cast doubt over the trade union stance of FUTA had now been provided with a hard hitting reply.

Moreover speaking further the Chairman of FUTA noted that he had placed his trust in Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa.
