Army Major Chandana Pradeep who was recently assaulted at a 5 star hotel in Colombo has been removed from service at the Intelligence Unit.

Army Spokesperson Brigadier Ruwan Wanigasooriya stated that he has been transferred to the brigade he commenced his service.

A panel was appointed by the Army to look in to the incident involving the Major and the panel had forwarded its report to the Army Commander recently.

Accordingly the Army Commander ruled that the Army Major in question was guilty.

The charge levelled against him was having affiliations with a businessman and providing him security using weapons provided by the Army.

Meanwhile, the Colombo Crimes Division was informed by court to forward a report as to whether the Army Major had made false statements to Courts.
