The Ministry of Health points out that the spread of non communicable deceases among children has increased.

Specialist Dr. Deepal Perera stated that obesity among children had also contributed towards the issue.

The National Child Protection Authority is preparing to introduce a 5 fold concept for the benefit of children.

Chairperson of Authority Attorney at Law Anoma Dissanayaka stated that the new concept will be introduced to minimize child abuse.

She stated that those behind most of abuse cases were those who suffered abuse during the past 30 years and that this cycle needs to be stopped.
