Feasibility study underway to determine construction of nuclear power plant

The Ministry of Power & Energy states that it is currently conducting feasibility tests concerning the construction of Nuclear Power plants in the country.

According to the Secretary of the Ministry of Power & Energy 

M.M.C. Ferdinando, the Nuclear Energy Authority Act would be revised in future to accommodate the requirements which arise.

Speaking further, these were the views expressed by the Secretary of the ministry in this regard.

Meanwhile a Sri Lankan delegation engaged in a recent tour to India to observe the Impact of the Kundankulam nuclear power plant which is being constructed in the subcontinent.
