Teacher-Principal trade unions charge that a joint trade union action would be resorted to in the event of issues pertaining to their salaries & other requests are not met by the government immediately.
Chief Secretary of the Ceylon Teacher Services Union Mahinda Jayasinghe speaking to our news team noted that a protest march in this regard had been organised for the 24th of this month, while notifications regarding their grievances have already been submitted to the Secretary of the Ministry of education.

When inquired by Deputy Minister of Education Wijith Vijayamuni De Zoysa it was noted that a special discussion had been scheduled for the 18th of this month in this regard.
According to the Deputy Minister all trade unionists have been invited to this meeting during which would be attended by the Education Ministries Secretary.
