The Fundamental Rights Petition which urges court to annul investments made under the EPF fund will be taken up before the Supreme Court on the 31st of this month.

The FPR was filed jointly by 11 trade unions including the Free Trade Zone Employees Trade Union and the Common Services Trade Union and was taken up before a three judge panel headed by Chief Justice Dr. Shirani Bandaranaike today while the Secretary to the Ministry of Finance Dr. P.B. Jayasundara was cited as the respondent to the case.

Deputy General Secretary of the United National Party Dr. Jayalath Jayawardhana who was present during the court proceedings subsequently expressed these views to the media.
