The police have arrested a woman who had fraudulently collected money from  27 residents of Juulampitiya in Galvaadiya in Middeniya.

Police Media spokesman's office said that this woman arrested yesterday had fraudulently collected a sum of 5 million rupees from the persons concerned.

It has been revealed from investigations that although fraudster had collected money from the said persons by carrying out a rotational fund-raising system called 'seettu' from 2008 up to now, she has not returned them.

The suspect is scheduled to be produced before the Walasmulla Magistrate's Court today.
