UNP MP Paalitha Range Bandaara says that whatever decision the party takes, he will participate in the rally scheduled to be held at Hyde Park grounds today.
The MP said so while participating yesterday in the occasion of calling on the chief incumbents of the Malwatta and Asgiri Chapters.
MPs Rangey Bandaara and Asoka Abeysingha met the chief incumbents along with MP Karu Jayasuriya to obtain advice on the step the party had taken with regard to the rally.
On this occasion chief incumbent of the Malwatta Chapter Most Venerable Thibbatuwaawey Sri Sumangala Thero has said it would have been important if steps had been taken to have the UNP also join this conference.
Expressing his views after calling on the chief incumbents UNP MP Paalitha Rangey Baandaara said further that he would attend the rally even if the party decides to hang him.
However participating at a media briefing held recently UNP general secretary Thissa Attanayake said that disciplinary action would be taken against party members if they participate in the meeting held today.
Meanwhile political sources say that Kurunegala District UNP MP Asoka Abeysingha has sent a special message to Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe.
It is said that this message has been said through a senior party leader.
In this message the MP says that if the disciplinary inquiry imposed on him is withdrawn, he will refrain from attending the Bhikkhu Front rally due to be held today.
However reports say that the Opposition Leader has so far not given any feedback with regard to this.
Meanwhile reports say that UNP MP Dayaasiri Jayasekera whose name is included in the list of those due to participate in today's meeting is currently on a. overseas tour while MP Harin Fernando is currently ill.
