United National Party MP Karu Jayasooriya was absent during the meeting which
was organised at the Hyde Park Grounds in Colombo today under the patronage of the United Bikkhu Front.
Incidentally the meeting was held under the aegis of Leader of the Democratic National Alliance Sarath Fonseka.
However UNP MP's Palitha Range Bandara, Ashok Abeysinghe & Palitha Thewarapperuma were present during todays meeting in an act of defiance.
Propaganda posters made public regarding the meeting previously nevertheless noted that the meeting was to be jointly adressed by DNA Leader Sarath Fonseka & UNP MP Karu Jayasooriya.
News paper notifications carried by today's papers with concern to the meeting however fell short of carrying Karu Jayasooriya's name in them.

UNP MP Palitha Range Bandara who was present during todays meeting which was convened by the United Bikkhu Front in a brave act of defiance noted that his participation in the meeting was to demonstrate to the masses that his faction had a mind of their own.
Meanwhile MP Palitha Rangebandara also filed replies to a statement made by General Secretary of the UNP MP Thissa Aththanayeke yesterday.
