Meanwhile the UNP has also decided to hold a special inquiry for the parliament and Provincial Council members concerned with regard to violation of party orders and participation in the meeting held at Hyde Park grounds.
A UNP spokesman said that relevant charge sheets would be handed over to the relevant MPs and provincial councillors next Monday.
However MP Karu Jayasuriya who had earlier affirmed participation in the rally held at the Hyde Park grounds, did not participate in it yesterday.
Issuing a communiqué the MP had said that he would not participate in the said meeting in obedience to party majority view.
However the UNP has decided to call for explanation from MP Karu Jayasuriya with regard to statements made by him in a manner harmful to the party during the past several weeks.
A UNP spokesman said that if it was revealed in this that some harm had been caused to the party by the statements made by the MP, a special inquiry would be held through the party disciplinary committee.
However DNA leader Sarath Fonseka who participated in the rally held at Hyde Park grounds said that more obstacles came to this rally from certain MPs of the opposition than from the Government side.
