The government has decided to revise the minimum fine imposed on those maintaining environments conducive for the breeding of dengue mosquitoes to

5000 rupees.

It is also being reported that cabinet approval has been granted to amend the mosquito breeding prevention act.

The following was revealed during the cabinet decision media briefing which is currently in session at the Government Information Department.

Moreover the spot fine for maintaining environments conducive for the breeding of dengue has been revised to rupees 2000.

If evidence corroborates that mosquito breeding had taken place in that environment, a minimum penalty of rupees 5000 would be imposed.

Meanwhile journalists queried Cabinet Media Spokesperson Minister Keheliya Rambukwella regarding Kumaran Padmanathan alias KP during today's cabinet decision media briefing.
