The Sri Lanka Muslim Congress has decided to call for a disciplinary hearing against its Members in the Eastern Provincial council who voted in favour of the Divinaguma bill.
General Secretary of the SLMC Hassan Ali expressing his views to our news team in this regard stated that a committee had been already been appointed under the guidance of congress leader Rauff Hakeem to investigate the code of conduct of these Members.
The SLMC had earlier notified its Members in the Eastern provincial council to refrain from voting in favour of the Divinaguma bill & call for a procrastination of votes.
However the General Secretary of the SLMC charges that its 7 MP's in the Eastern provincial council have voted in favour of the bill regardless of its instructions.
The disciplinary committee of the SLMC based on its findings will report to the parties supreme council.
