Polarized conversation continues to dominate the political arena regarding the eradication of the 13th amendment to the costitution.

This situation has aggravated further with certain political parties forming an opinion that the 13th amendment to the constitution should not be done away with.

Against this backdrop our news team sought the views of Chief Ministers of Provincial Councils-which were formed based on the 13th amendment to the constitution.

Chief Minister of the Western Provincial Council Prasanna Ranathunga expressing his views to our news team justified his request to rescind

the 13th amendment to the constitution in the following manner.

Moreover Chief Minister of the Eastern Province Abdul Majeed noted that any attempts to withdraw the 13th amendment to the constitution would be met with stiff resistance.
