Parents of Thurstan College students who were involved in today’s Thurstan-Royal clash are being summoned to the school on the 26th of this month.

Principal of Thurstan College Y.A.M.D. Yapa expressing his views to our news team stated that the brawl was a result of a long standing feud between two students attached to both schools.

Although several attempts were made by our news team to contact the Principal of Royal College Upali Gunasekara they proved futile since it was mentioned that he was engaged in a special meeting during our time of inquiry.

Moreover a group had vandalized the laboratory as well as the prefect's room of the Thurstan College yesterday.

Classes belonging to Grade 10, 11, 12 & 13 of both schools were temporarily suspended until the 29th of this month following an altercation which had occurred between two student factions in Reid Avenue last evening.

Shortly afterwards, 6 students & a police officer who had sustained injuries during the incident were admitted to the Colombo National hospital.

Minister of education Bandula Gunawardhana meanwhile addressing a media briefing at the Ministry of Education today expressed the following views regarding the incident.
