Various views are being expressed with concern to expected dividends from

the year 2013 budget.

The Jathika Sewaka Sangamaya which is a constituent of the United National Party charges that both state sector as well as private sector employees, should receive a basic salary increment of 10,000 rupees.

Chairman of the JSS, Parliamentarian Dr. Jayalath Jayawardhana expressing his views to our news team stated that his association also hoped to garner 3 ancillary requests apart from its main demand.

Meanwhile the National Trade Union Centre demands for a salary increment of 13,442 rupees & 50 cents on behalf of state sector employees while it urges the government to equally intercede on behalf of the salary increments of private sector employees.

Moreover the Inter University Students Federation expects an increase in Mahapola Scholarship instalments.

According to the Convenor of the IUSF, Sanjeewa Bandara the current instalment of 2,500 rupees is expected to be increased to 5,000 rupees.
