Several Health Sector trade unions today demanded for equal allowances in the event of salaries & stipends being increased for medical officers.

The Government Nursing Officers Association, the Paramedics United Trade Union Front & the Supplementary Health Services United Front today called for an increase of its allowances & wages during a media briefing which was held in Colombo today.

Chairman of the GNOA Saman Rathnapriya expressing his views during the media briefing stated that if the salaries of medical officers are being revised to rupees 90,000, wages of those attached to the GNOA should be revised to rupees 65,000.
