The All Ceylon Bakery Owners Association has decided to increase the price of a loaf of bread by two rupees with effect from midnight today.

Last Friday a Kilogramme of Prima brand wheat flour was increased by 6 rupees while a Kilogramme of Serendib brand wheat flour was increased by 4 rupees.

According to the Secretary of the All Ceylon Bakery Owners Association Nimal Perera, the executive committee of the association had decided to revise the price of a loaf of bread when it had convened this morning.

A 450 gram loaf of bread which was sold at 58 rupees before will now be sold at 60 rupee.
