US President Barack Obama has toured the state of New Jersey, to survey the devastation two days after the huge storm, Sandy, made landfall nearby.
With Republican Governor Chris Christie, he met rescue workers and residents in Atlantic City.
The massive cyclone killed 63 people across the north-eastern US and millons are without.
At a joint news conference afterwards, Obama said that they are here for the public and that fact will not be forgotten.
He added that they will follow up to make sure the public will get all the help they need until they rebuild.
