The Medical Supplies Division of the Ministry of Health states that it has decided to destroy pharmaceutical drugs stored at hospitals which have been withdrawn from being dispensed owing to various reasons.

According to Director of MSD Dr. Kamal Jayasinghe pharmaceutical drugs which have been withdrawn from circulation are being stored at several hospitals despite their disuse.

Speaking further Dr. Kamal Jayasinghe noted that the decision had been taken with the intention of relieving space at hospital drug stores.
