Police Media Spokesperson SSP Prishantha Jayakodi states that four suspects have been placed under arrest in connection to the quadruple murders which were executed in Poddala Galle today.
Incidentally the bodies of the four deceased males were discovered this morning.
Police who have ascertained the identities of the deceased individuals noted that 3 of the victims were residents Aththi-li-goda, while the other victim is believed to be a resident of Ambalan-waththa-all four, occupants of Galle.
According to Police Media Spokesperson SSP Prishantha Jayakodi the victims are said to be 18, 24, 25 & 30 years of age respectively.
The post-mortem examinations on the deceased were carried out at the Karapitiya Teaching hospital this evening.
The post mortem examination has concluded that all 4 victims had succumbed to their injuries due to severe head trauma caused by close range shooting.
The bodies of the deceased were discovered adjacent to the Poddala, Walpitawaththa Maha-sone culvert.
The bodies had been bound & gagged with their faces concealed.
Commenting further on the murders, police note that these four individuals had been instrumental in the murder of an individual which was carried out on the 25th of last month in close proximity to the Dixon Junction in Galle.
A 48 year old father of four who had been a residing in Dangolla-Galle had been the victim of the ill fated incident.
Moreover the individual identified as Saman Kumara Senevirathna had been mutilated and murdered.
It has been revealed that the motive behind the victim's murder who had also been a businessman by profession had been based on a personal feud.
The deceased had been the brother of Late Galle Municipal Council Opposition Leader Dushantha Snevirathna who had also been murdered in a shooting.
