As many as 135 refugees of the Mandapam Camp in the Mannar district have been transferred to camps in Tiruchi and Villupuram today.

Sources said that while 60 refugees were sent to the camp at Chinna Salem in Villupuram district, 75 refugees were transferred to Vaalavanthan Kottai in Tiruchi district.

Meanwhile, 69 more refugees, including 20 women and 28 children, reached Muhuntharayar Chathiram near Rameswaram.

They reported at the Dhanushkodi police station and informed the police that they wanted to take asylum.
