The Kaduwela Magistrate ordered the two suspects who are JVP members who assaulted two individuals who were pasting publicity posters regarding the Janarala Newspaper to be further remanded till the 12th of this month.
The Thalangama police arrested these two individuals with relation to an assault on two members of the Front Line Socialist party who were pasting posters near the Thalangama College junction and the subsequent theft of the victims' motorcycle by the two suspects.
One of the two arrested members of the JVP includes a former Pradeshiya Sabha member.
Speaking at a press conference held in Colombo recently, the editor of the Janarala newspaper Chandana Siri- mal-waththa directly accused the JVP regarding this incident.
