The Tamil National Alliance as well as the JVP is yet to decide if it will participate in the 11 member Parliamentary Select Committee which has been appointed to probe the impeachment motion filed against Chief Justice Dr. Shirani Bandaranaike.
Propaganda Secretary of the JVP MP Vijitha Herath speaking to our news team noted that his party would draw a final decision in this regard in the immediate future.
The composition of the 11 member parliamentary select committee appointed to investigate the impeachment motion filed against the current chief justice consists upon the representation ratio of each respective political party in parliament.
Accordingly 7 members representing the government and 4 representing the opposition are being included in the PSC.
According to the General Secretary of the UNP, the 3 members of his party represented in the PSC remain due to be appointed.
