The government states that it will follow the revisions prescribed by the Supreme Court concerning the Divinaguma bill & would not conduct a referendum.

Minister Susil Premajayantha expressing his views during a media briefing organised by the United Peoples Freedom Alliance noted that these revisions would be taken up before parliament during the Parliamentary Select Committee debate.

However the Samurdhi Development Officers Association issuing a release states that the decision issued by the Supreme Court regarding the Divinaguma Bill is a victory garnered by the country as a whole.

Chief Secretary of the Samurdhi Development Officers Association expressing his views to our news team requested of all parties to adhere to the Supreme Courts decision.
