JHU & NFF join forces calling for abolition of 13th Amendment

The Jathika Hela Urumaya as well as the National Freedom Front today convened a joint media briefing during which it was proposed that the 13th amendment to the constitution should be abolished and an alternate administrative system be introduced to fortify the existing local government institutions.

Leader of the National Freedom Front Minister Wimal Weerawansa expressing his views during the media briefing stated that all patriotic forces should urge the government to abolish the13th amendment to the constitution.

Secretary of the JHU Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka meanwhile addressing the media briefing jointly convened by both parties noted that the parties hoped to create a broad forum regarding the topic.

However expressing his views during a media briefing convened by the UPFA this morning, General Secretary of the Party Minister Susil Premajayantha stated that a final decision had note yet been reached regarding the nullification of the 13th amendment to the constitution.
