Finance Ministry Secretary Dr. P. B. Jayasundara says that 95 per cent of the country's tax revenue comes from 20 per cent tax files.

Participating in the budget lecture in Colombo yesterday the Secretary said that about 20 per cent of the income comes from about 80 per cent of the tax files that have been currently opened.

Government and Opposition politicians express various opinions with regard to the budget after President Mahinda Rajapaksa presented the budget in parliament yesterday.

Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa said that the budget this time provides a number of incentives.

JVP MP Sunil Handunnetti too joined in expressing views about the budget.

Minister Maitripaala Sirisena said that the Government had presented a positive budget that provides relief to farmers
