Udul Premarathna an activist of the Front Line Socialist Party who was arrested on charges of assault has been enlarged on a cash bail amounting to one hundred thousand rupees.

Premarathna had been arrested by the Boralesgamuwa police based on a complaint it had received that the suspect had assaulted a member of the JVP in Pepiliyana yesterday.

Subsequent to having been presented before the Gangodawila Majistrate the suspect was enlarged on bail.

Meanwhile during a media briefing convened by the Front Line Socialist party today, charges were levelled against the JVP that it was guilty of assaulting FSP members throughout.

Polit Bureau member of the FSP, Duminda Nagamuwa expressing his views here noted that 23 incidents pertaining to assault had already been reported to the Inspector General of Police.

Nagamuwa also queried the JVP if leftist politics was its sole endowment.
