Around 60 students from the Weligapola Walagamba Vidyalaya in Balangoda were hospitalised after falling ill this morning due to an allergic reaction.
Hospital sources stated the students displayed symptoms such as itching, vomiting and dizziness.
Superintend of Waligepola Dr. K I Sanjeewa speaking to our news team stated that students are not in a serious condition.
Meanwhile, around 1000 students from Gampola Jinaraja Bhalika Vidyalaya were admitted to the Gampola base hospital following allergic reactions day before yesterday.
Approximately 40 students of the Gampola - Panwilathanna Maha Vidyalaya have been admitted to hospital yesterday due to an allergy.
Director of the Panwila-thanna Rural Hospital Anura Dias stated that approximately 5 students are still in hospital receiving treatment.
