The Jathika Sewaka Sangamaya attached to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has requested of President Mahinda Rajapaksa to appoint a committee to look into alleged charges of graft.
Secretary of the CPC's JSS Ananda Palitha expressing his views to our news team noted that investigations should also encompass yesterday’s blast in a
gas pipeline which claimed the lives of two persons.
Palitha further added that these two lives had been lost while attempting to carry out reconstruction activities on an obsolete pipe line structure.
Meanwhile subject Minister Susil Premajayantha states that an external committee will be appointed to look into yesterday's mishap at Sapugaskanda oil refinery.
Minister Premajayantha made this observation while speaking in parliament yesterday.
Two employees had been killed in the gas pipe line blast while 10 others had sustained injuries.
