Three Kandy district schools closed due to various allergies reopen today.

The Jinaraaja Vidyaalaya in Gampola was the first school thus closed over an allergy like this.

In this incident about 1000 school girls were admitted to Gampola Hospital over itching and appearance of boils in the body and faintish feeling.

Subsequently the Panniliwatta Vidyaalaya, also in Gampola too was closed down over a similar allergy.

In this incident 40 students were admitted to the Gampola hospital.

A hospital spokesman said that by now all the students admitted to the Gampola hospital have left the hospital after receiving treatment.

Meanwhile 200 students of the Kandy - Nugawela Boys' School were admitted to the  Tittapathgala hospital at noon last Friday.

Doctors said that the reason for this hospitalisation too was an allergy.

The students admitted to this hospital too have left hospital after receiving treatment.

Meanwhile 87 students of the Balangoda - Waeligeypola Sri Somaadevee Primary School were hospitalised last Friday over an allergy.

Doctors said that small boils were seen in the bodies of these children too.

All of these students receive treatment and left hospital in the afternoon of the day of hospitalisation.

A group of the Colombo MRI were engaged in a tour of the Central Province for examining these allergies.

The members of the team took relevant samples  of water and soil and carried out tests.

However the MRI has not been able to find a relevant answer as a result of these tests.

In addition reports say steps have been taken to provide to the MRI blood samples of students affected with the allergies .
