The latest chemical tests conducted on the red rain that fell in several regions revealed a high concentration of iron in it.

The ministry of health stated that this discovery was made during tests conducted by the Medical Research Institute.

Normal rain does not contain any iron at all, yet it has been confirmed that the red rain had a concentration of 4% of iron per millilitre of water.

Similar concentrations of iron were found in the samples of red rain collected from Kerala in India during 2001.
