The High Court today advised United National Party MP Ravi Karunanayeke
to refrain from taking court matters lightly.
This was when a case filed against parliamentarian Ravi Karunanayeke for violating the Exchange Control Act was taken up before court today.
The passport of MP Ravi Karunanayeke has been impounded by court, and the attorney representing Karunanayeke called for its release in court today.
This move was met with opposition by the State Counsel appearing for the prosecution since the accused had failed to return the passport on time which was burrowed from court custody on a previous occasion.
